Spelled is a healthy cereal rich in nutrients. In fact, our pearled spelled is an excellent source of carbohydrates to alternate with other cereals to vary your diet and follow a balanced diet. Furthermore, it is rich in proteins with high biological value which provide the essential amino acids for our body.

Compared to durum wheat and soft wheat, our spelled is more digestible and has a great satiating effect. Thanks to a low fat content and a high presence of fibre, it therefore becomes a precious ally for those following a diet.

Spelled is the oldest cereal in the world and is considered the precursor of wheat.

Since ancient times it has been cultivated in different parts of the world and has become a staple in the diet of many peoples. It had become so valuable that the Romans used it as a currency of exchange.

It is also very easy to grow thanks to its ability to adapt to different soils and climates, as well as being a cereal that is very resistant to diseases and external agents.

Do you know how to store it?

Our dried spelled can be stored for months, just protect it from humidity. Use an airtight container to protect it from air or external agents, preferably made of glass or hard plastic.

If you have leftover after having already cooked it, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or in the freezer. Remember to let it cool and then use an airtight container.

Spelled contains gluten and therefore cannot be consumed by celiacs or those suffering from gluten intolerance.
