These legumes, in addition to being delicious, are even more extraordinary from a nutritional point of view. With a notable protein content, they represent a precious source of vegetable proteins. They are, in fact, rich in fibre, iron, calcium, vitamin B, folic acid, mineral salts, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese. In particular, they help to:

How can you store our black beans?

To ensure maximum freshness and quality, we recommend storing our dried black beans for no longer than one year. The ideal environment is a cool, dry place, away from direct light. To preserve their goodness, once purchased, place them in an airtight container, preferably made of glass.

How can you enjoy them?

An essential first step before preparing dried black beans is soaking, a process that requires patience but preserves their nutritional value. Rinse them carefully, eliminating any impurities, then immerse them in a basin, covering them with two inches of water and adding a teaspoon of bicarbonate for each kilo. The soaking, which lasts about 12 hours, allows them to rehydrate and keep their precious nutrients intact.

Then you can cook them traditionally in a pot, covered with 3 cm of water. Avoid adding salt until they are cooked so as not to compromise their consistency. Cooking for about an hour will give you black beans of the desired consistency. Alternatively, the pressure cooker reduces the cooking time to about 30 minutes from the whistle.

Once ready, they can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, immersed in their cooking liquid, in a glass container with a cap.

Black beans are the ideal choice for enriching soups and soups. Whether you opt for a robust Mexican chili or a soup with vegetables, their rich flavor adds a distinctive touch to any preparation. You could also prepare tasty vegan meatballs to enrich your vegetarian burgers. Or create cold summer dishes or healthy snacks. For example, adding them to cold salads with corn, tomatoes and avocado or preparing a hummus enriched by their texture.
